Dark Monarch Films is officially in development on our next feature project — Party, a high-concept horror film set in the world of hip-hop and fame.
Written by Nic Collins & Robin Nyström, whose previous show recently aired on Adult Swim, Party marks a bold step into the genre space for our studio — combining sharp social commentary, music industry realism, and psychological terror into one unforgettable story.
At its core, Party explores what happens when power, image, and ambition collide under the flashing lights of the culture we created — and the monsters it made of us. It’s stylish, smart, and unflinching — a film that looks directly at what the industry refuses to say out loud.
Why Party Matters Now
In a time when hip-hop’s legacy is being reexamined through the lens of exploitation, celebrity worship, and the dark psychology of success, Party aims to hold a mirror to that world. The story is not just horror for horror’s sake — it’s a reflection of the real fear behind fame, control, and identity in an industry built on performance.
From the first draft, we knew this film had the potential to hit a cultural nerve. It’s bold, unfiltered, and made to speak directly to the people who built the culture from the ground up.
Dark Monarch Films’ Next Chapter
Following our award-winning success with the Cash App project The Angel Machine (2025 Silver Telly Winner), and our ongoing distribution rollout of Where The Shadows Wait, Party represents the next evolution of what Dark Monarch Films stands for: genre-driven storytelling with purpose, originality, and global reach.
This project continues our mission to create independent films that speak to both culture and craft — films that live beyond trends and define the next era of independent cinema.
