Today, Where The Shadows Wait picked up an Honorable Mention from the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival (AIMAFF) — placing us in the Top 3 of our category.
What I love about this one is the intention behind the festival itself. AIMAFF focuses on visual language, atmosphere, and cinematic craft. It’s a festival that rewards films built on tone, storytelling precision, and artistic control.
To receive an Honorable Mention — especially from a festival that spotlights the art of filmmaking — is meaningful in a different way. It validates the creative risks we took with this film:
the tension-heavy pacing
the visual storytelling
the sound design
the emotional stillness
the slow-burn performances
This recognition isn’t about popularity or genre hype.
It’s about craft.
And for me, as a producer guiding a project from the ground up, seeing the film acknowledged at this level is another reminder that the work is landing — not just in festivals, but with audiences who value filmmaking as an art form.
Momentum continues.
Onward.
